Nancy Criss and her team have been reaching for the stars and last night they caught one! Ms. Criss was present, as were several cast and crew, to accept the award for the “Best Drama feature”.

Family film “THE SPARROWS: NESTING” takes home top award from Temecula International Film Festival.

Independent director/producer Nancy Criss and her team at Nandar Group, LLC and Nandar Entertainment have been reaching for the stars and last night they caught one! Ms. Criss was present, as were several cast and crew, to accept the award for the “Best Drama Feature” category.

“THE SPARROWS: NESTING” screened to audiences on Saturday morning and based on audience reactions, Criss was hoping for another win. The movie has been making rounds at film festivals and taking top awards including “Best Sound in a Feature Film” at the 7th Annual MayDay Film Festival in Evansville, Indiana last month and “Best Family Film” at the NOVA International Film Festival in Virginia in April of this year. It was a 2015 official selection at the Hoboken International Film Festival.

“THE SPARROWS: NESTING,” written by Ken Lemm and Kevin Allan Kent and directed by Nancy Criss of Nandar Group, LLC and Josh Hodgins, is the second of four family-friendly films on their roster to be released in 2015-2016. A story which focuses on a family faced with a tragedy who leans on their faith to find answers, the film has spurred a soundtrack of positive and uplifting songs. The soundtrack to be released this summer has songs written and recorded by a who’s who of notable musicians: The Bellamy Brothers, Peter Becket, John Ford Coley, Country Legend Neal McCoy, pop singer Ashley Nicole and Disney star turned recording artist China Anne McClain.

The Dove Foundation bestowed a 4-star rating on the film which stars Kevin Sorbo (“God’s Not Dead”), Christopher Atkins (“The Blue Lagoon”), James Duval (“Independence Day,” “Donnie Darko”), Judy Norton (“The Walton’s”), John Savage (“Deer Hunter”) and up and comers Terri Minton, Valenzia Algarin, Nicole Criss, Josh Feldman, Chalet Lizette Brannan and Mandalynn Carlson.

Caltex Films in association with Nandar Group, LLC. begins filming “BROKEN: A MUSICAL” in Los Angeles on June 15, 2015 which stars Beverley Mitchell, Ashley Argota and Judy Norton once wrapped will go straight into production on “FISHES ‘N LOAVES” a family comedy. Criss is in talks with Disney’s “GOOD LUCK CHARLIE!” star Leigh Allyn Baker, Dominique Swain (“FACEOFF”) and hope to start talks with comedian Tom Arnold (“ROSEANNE”) and “(90210’s”) Luke Perry.
